Is the INVACARE® HOMEFILL® Oxygen System covered by insurance?

The INVACARE® HOMEFILL® Oxygen System is covered by Medicare and most other private insurance groups. To get more details about how to get your insurance provider to cover the costs of this system, contact a Orbit Medical Representative by phone, or fill out the form on this page and a representative will contact you.

With my current oxygen system, I frequently have to switch the regulator from bottle to bottle. Do I have to do this with the INVACARE® HOMEFILL® Oxygen System?

No. Each cylinder has its own built-in regulator and conserving device so that you don't have to go through the hassle of switching the regulator from bottle to bottle.

How long does it take to fill the tanks?

It only takes 75 minutes to fill the tanks, and since it is equipped with an automatic shut-off valve, you can even fill your tanks overnight.

These tanks look really small, don't they run out of oxygen quickly?

These tanks are small, and they are light too. They only weight 4.3 pounds when full. But, the small size of these tanks will not make you sacrifice because each tank lasts up to 5 hours!

If I am refilling one of my tanks, will that cut down on my continuous supply of oxygen?

The compressor provides 5 LPM of oxygen and it only requires 2 LPM to fill your tanks. So you can use up to 3 LPM of oxygen and your tanks will still fill up. If you use more than 3 LPM, you can still fill up your tanks while you are using the compressor, but it might take a little bit longer to fill.

Is it difficult to refill my tanks?

The Home Fill II system is very easy to use. All you have to do is connect your bottle with the Exclusive Oxy-Lock coupling system, and flip one switch. You won't have to worry about pressing a series of buttons, nor do you have to use awkward compression hoses. When the bottle is full, the compressor automatically quits filling it.
